3M™ 346 Flatback Tape is a 16.7 mil heavy-duty paper-backed tape designed for temporary surface protection of metals, plastics, and finished surfaces in demanding indoor and outdoor environments. Its natural flatback construction pairs a weather-resistant backing with a rubber adhesive that delivers clean removal for up to 6 months.
This tape is well suited for metalworking shops, fabrication facilities, and manufacturing lines where panels, machined parts, and finished components must be shielded from abrasion, contamination, or handling damage during production, transit, or storage. Apply to surfaces between 60°F and 100°F for consistent adhesion performance.
Each roll measures 12 inches wide by 60 yards long and is sold individually. The 16.7 mil thickness provides substantial coverage per roll, making it practical for high-usage environments stocking tape for ongoing surface protection workflows.
